Looks great of course! Just one question - how much?
This product is amazing! The design will make sewing/embroidery so enjoyable. It's obvious that those involved with this machine (it is hard to call this a machine!!) must have poured their hearts and souls into its development. Pure genius!!!
The new Bernina 8 series is wonderful and the Bernina "830" is FAB U LOUS. This machine has everything and more, if there could be more, it has it.
I was left completely overwhelmed this evening. I'm soo very glad I had this opportunity to experience this mommentos occasion that will never be forgotten.
There are thousands waiting with baited breath to touch, see and lastly experience this wonder for themselves. Wow!!!!

What a truly marvelous machine and a truly marvelous introduction. I had goosebumps all throughout the presentation, just watching here in my studio. I know how long you've been asking the questions as to what we want, taking the time to listen, and then to ask again to make sure what you heard was what we were saying. You listened -- and it truly shows. Thanks from the bottom of all our hearts!
Ooooh. oooh. oooh! I'm up in the middle of the night, looking at all the stuff on this new machine. You did a great job with this. Congrats to you and the rest of the design staff. The 830 really has it all.
The new bobbin setup is genius, I can't wait to play with that. One of the things I like most about my Saab is the way the cupholder pops out of the dashboard in a vertical position and then spins around to a horizontal position. The first time I tried it at the dealership, my husband said to the salesman: She's sitting in the car and laughing and playing with the cupholder. I think that's the car she wants.
Your bobbin is like that, except it holds more thread than my cupholder does. Well, actually, the thread capacity of my cupholder is very low. The larger bobbin is genius. And I love that you don't have to fiddle around when changing it, and that the needle threads itself too. And the thread rack: genius.
I especially like the faster speed of the machine, and the extreme width of it.
And I see there is a quilt frame for it. AND a cabinet big enough to hold it.
It's obvious you really paid attention to all of the things we've been asking for.
It looks like the 830 could replace at least two of my domestic machines with this one unit. It's even better than the iphone 3G.
I also can't wait to see more about the 820, it looks like a brilliant solution if you don't need the embroidery. (Unless I'm getting that wrong and it does embroidery too.)
Congrats to you!
Love,
Robbi
after all the time, money and thought put into this new machine you take the name of a beloved workhorse...i still have my original "830" and "930". now, when i talk to someone about my 830 they are going to think i dropped a ton of money on an embroidery machine, no, i have the original 830, over 30 years old and running smooth as a top....
Can you tell me the machine's footprint?
Hi I loved seeing and sewing on the 830 in Kansas City can't wait to get one
Hi Terry! I'm so glad you were able to make it to Kansas City to see the unveiling of the 8 series. I agree with you, I can't wait to get one!
Eileen, just check in with your local dealer for pricing of the new 8 series machines. If you're not sure where your nearest dealer is, click the Store Locator link on the left side bar of the blog - under "Bernina Links".
The website and brochure basically highlight the major 8 features of this awesome machine. What else does the 830 have? I would like to see a list of every feature. Gayle, you mentioned a clock with alarm...very cool...so what is on this beauty? We want the details!
I'm so excited about this machine! I've already put a deposit down. Thank you Bernina for making a machine so wonderful. I can hardly wait for it to arrive!!!!
Bernina has certainly come up with a winner. I love the new features. and especially the longer arm and more space to the right of the needle. And the embroidery hoop that sews 10 x 16 inches. Can't wait to see it up close.
Hi Ann & Donna & everyone else with questions about the new 830 - If you go to the Series 8 microsite and look at the Top 8 Features, you'll find a "For a Full List..." link at the bottom of the page which details all of the other great features of this new machine. It's super! I'll be writing more about it after I finish downloading all the photos I took! - Jo
This machine is awesome! The more information that I absorb the more awesome the 8 series becomes. Thank you Bernina for all of the $,time and technoloy that went into this.
Walked into the LB Quilt Show determined not to be impressed. Put down my deposit after 30 minutes of watching and using the machine. Oh well.
I'm using the emulator (great idea) and was wondering of there is a way to increase the embroidery speed? Only goes about 150-200 per minute on the demo, I know from experience that the machine is much faster. Would just be nice to see in real time.
Thanks, can hardly wait for November.
