Summer Sewing - Quick Hat

Isn't this a great sun hat? Perfect for protecting my neck and face from burning, and a nice one or two evening project. I bought a half yard of this brown & pink batik at the Rosemont Quilt Show a few years ago, and used coordinating batiks from my stash for the lining. The pattern is from Simple Sewing by Lotta Jansdotter, which has lots of other projects I want to stitch this summer!

In the Bernina Blog - there's a mention of a Bernina University? What kind of school is this and where is it located?
Hi Leila - Bernina University is the annual dealer meeting for Bernina of America, Inc., held every summer. This year it's in Kansas City, and everyone is waiting to see the new 8 Series machine! This year there's a short consumer event immediately after Bernina University ends - July 21 & 22 - for details see the link at http://www.bernina8series.com/. There's also a webcast for folks that can't attend the event in Kansas City. I'll be there! Jo
